Khalsa College goes Solar, partners with Amplus
New Delhi, August 27, 2018: Amplus Energy Solutions has partnered with Khalsa
college of Amritsar for a 775-kilowatt solar energy plant on its campus.
Solar panels have been installed in all the colleges, schools and other buildings on
the Khalsa college campus, including hostels and canteens, to minimize their
dependence on thermal and hydro-based electricity.
Khalsa College Governing Council President Mr. Satyajit Singh Majithia
inaugurated the plant in presence of honourary secretary Mr. RMS Chhina and
Mr. Sanjeev Aggarwal, MD and CEO, Amplus.
“We are proud to complete the project in record time and would be happily
serving the historic educational institutions. Top educational institutes, schools
and colleges can lead with example to use renewable sources for their power
needs for other institutes to follow,” Mr. Sanjeev Aggarwal, MD and CEO,
Amplus Energy said.
This plant will save 3,268 tonnes of CO2 and 7,567 barrel crude oil annually by
using renewable source, solar, to power the plant.
Solar panels have been installed strategically to ensure that zero impact of
installation on heritage buildings.
