Ethics in real estate,
global competition launch by IES
New Delhi: The
International Ethics Standards (IES) Coalition, a fast-growing group of 60
global professional bodies spanning land, real estate, construction and
infrastructure, has launcheda global ethics competition.
The IES Coalition's ‘Communicating Ethics’
competition aims to capture thought-provoking ideas from built environment students and young
professionals around the world.
Entries are being
invited from built environment students and young professionals representing
land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. Participants are being asked
to consider the relationship between successful business and ethical conduct
and how ethical values can be placed at the heart of businesses in these
sectors.
Commenting, Mr. Sachin Sandhir, Global MD, Emerging Business, RICS said:
“ “Real estate and construction sector in India has seen transformation at
various stages and is now clearly more transparent, organized and professional
sector than five years ago. With many globally renowned realty, Independent
Property Consultants (IPCs) and architecture firms setting up and expanding
their businesses’ in India, we are witnessing best global practices and ethics
being followed by many companies. With this initiative we want to capture the
ideas and powerful messages of built environment students and young
professionals from all over the world.
The IES Coalition, of which RICS is a founding member,
set up at the United Nations in New York in 2014 and is working to create the
first international ethics standards for land, real estate, construction and
infrastructure. The standards are scheduled to be
published worldwide during 2016.
The best entries will feature in a multi-media presentation and all
participants will be fully credited. The winner will receive a monetary prize
of $250* prize or currency equivalent and be profiled on the IES website
alongside shortlisted candidates.
Eligible participants simply have to email answers to one or more of the
five competition questions (outlined in the IES Competition Questionnaire) in
no more than 100 words. All written entries must be emailed to ethics@ies-coalition.org with a
head and shoulders photo by Friday January 29, 2016. Filmed answers must also be submitted
by this date and be clearly labelled (see explanatory note and competition
questionnaire).

The global IES Coalition,
represents many thousands of qualified property professionals from around the
world, andis working with the independent Standards Setting Committee (SSC)
which is writing the International Ethics Standards consisting of high-level
principles which will be implemented through codes of conduct owned by
Coalition organisations.
