~~Both organizations to work together to improve brokerage service standards &

transparency through training ~~

National, 9th June 2015: RICS – a global professional body that promotes standards and chartered qualification in real estate & construction, has partnered with Tata Housing - one of the fastest growing Real Estate companies, to impart knowledge and training to the broker community, as part of their initiative ‘Bandhan’.

Targeted exclusively for brokers, Bandhan – India’s first social network for brokers aims at introducing standardized and transparent brokerage practices amidst a very large unorganized broker community, for the eventual benefit of consumers.  The launch marks the occasion of World Brokers Day observed on June 9th.

Aligned with its role of promoting best practices, RICS is supporting this initiative by Tata Housing which aims to offer customers transparent, value-added and international standard brokerage services.  Through this platform, RICS will offer different training modules to upgrade broker knowledge and service levels.

This joint initiative targets training 1000 brokers in the first year itself.

“Brokers have played a crucial role in the evolution of the real estate market.  We believe this is a great initiative by Tata Housing that would help the broker community enhance their image and command respect that has been long due. Training would further strengthen their value and make them important in the decision making cycle. We look forward to working with Tata Housing on this commendable initiative, which we hope will have a significant impact in improving the brokerage landscape.” Ms. DevinaGhildial – MD South Asia, RICS.

Mr. Brotin Banerjee, CEO and MD, Tata housing said, “Despite playing a critical role in the buying cycle, brokers have never got their due respect because of the huge gap in the service expectation of the customer. We believe a lot of credit for the growth of the Real estate industry should have been given to brokers as they play a critical role in buying cycle of a consumer.”
